The requirement was to design and install an ambient air quality monitoring station as well as a weather station. The ambient air station monitors particulate matter (PM10), sulphur dioxide (SO2), carbon monoxide (CO), nitrogen oxide and dioxide (NO and NO2), as well as volatile organic compounds: Benzene, Toluene, Ethylbenzene and Xylene.
The weather station monitors atmospheric conditions. We installed a data logging system to acquire the data from the gas analysers and weather instruments. The data is averaged over a 10 minute period and then sent to our remote server where the data can be accessed in real-time through a Windows application.
